Are you into hiking in the State's National Forests Maggie Valley is in the western part of the State, in the heart of the Smoky Mountains, and surrounded by Pisgah, Nantahala, Uwharrie and Croatan National Forest,  Great Smoky National Park 

Take a  tour of Chimney Rock, located just east of Asheville. For those who remember the movie "Last of the Mohicans", this is where some of the memorable mountains scenes were filmed. Another site has a great Map of Chimney Rock.
